ConExpo Show Planner ScreenshotConExpo, a large construction equipment show held each March in Las Vegas, is offering an online tool to help attendees navigate the show. Those registered can even set up their own planner through the site. A ConExpo iPhone app also offers access to show maps, events, and exhibitor information.

Address Standard for the US on the Horizon

After working for the past five years on developing an address standard for the U.S., the Federal Geographic Data Committee is closing in on finalizing their work. By the end of this year, they expect to release the United States Thoroughfare, Landmark, and Postal Address Data Standard. For those interested in a preview, a draft of the standard can be downloaded in a zip file on the FGDC website at this URL:

The CDC recently released statistics for 2008 related to fluoridation of community drinking water supplies. You can find the report at this URL:

While fluoridation of drinking water can be a controversial subject, many community water supplies add  this chemical to prevent tooth decay. The data reports that 62.4% of the U.S. population receives fluoridated water.

UK Government Releases Data Content Module for Drupal

Interested in publishing your government data online? The UK has released a CKAN module to be used on Drupal-based Websites (Drupal is used to publish the Public Works Group site). This module allows sites to publish data in a manner similar to the UK's CKAN site. You can read more about it and download the module at this URL:
